Meta has introduced a new lineup of AI-powered wearable devices, including camera-free smart glasses aimed at addressing privacy concerns associated with wearable technology. The audio-only glasses, priced at $349, will be available starting October 13. Unlike Meta’s previous models, these glasses do not include cameras for capturing photos or videos, reflecting the company’s commitment to privacy features in its products.

In addition to the camera-free model, Meta unveiled new versions of its smart glasses equipped with display capabilities. These display models will start at $799 and are set to expand into additional international markets. The company also announced the development of lighter mixed-reality glasses, which will use an external battery and memory pack. This device is expected to launch in the spring of 2027, with a starting price of $1,299.

Meta is also focusing on its AI-powered personal assistant, Muse, which is designed to perform various tasks such as booking appointments, making calls, and connecting with services. The introduction of AI glasses and Muse is part of Meta’s broader strategy to integrate AI into consumer products.

Privacy remains a significant consideration for Meta, as evidenced by the inclusion of visible recording indicators in its camera-equipped models. The company emphasizes that privacy features continue to play a crucial role in the design of its wearable technology.
